PORO RING ceramic material for biological filtration. High-quality filter material in the form of ceramic, porous rings, whose shape ensures good water flow, and thus adequate oxygenation and nutrition of the biological bed in the filter. The specific surface area of Poro Ring M is 600 m2 / l, it is formed by a complicated network of tubules and pores in which water with life-giving oxygen and nutrients for bacteria can circulate freely. The porous structure of Poro Ring M is an excellent substrate for the settlement and growth of nitrifying bacteria desired in the aquarium, which transform ammonium (NH4 +) and nitrite (NO2-) ions dangerous to fish into relatively safe nitrates (NO3-).
